Reverse Osmosis Treatment Chemicals
Our advanced reverse osmosis chemicals are scientifically formulated to help optimize reverse osmosis recovery rates, improve the operational efficiency of RO plant installations; and reduce problems associated with scaling and corrosion.
- Phosphonate Scale Inhibitor
It is a high performance, reverse osmosis scale inhibitor scientifically formulated for the treatment and protection of reverse osmosis membranes. It can also be used as a highly efficient water softener resin cleaner and on-going preventative treatment for water softeners.
It offers an array of performance benefits where scale and iron fouling problems are encountered in RO systems and water softeners. Historically scale and deposits build up on the RO membrane leading to poor permeate quality and low permeate production, this coupled with un-planned downtime and increased water and energy costs, the result has been premature RO membrane replacement. Based on phosphonates for solubilising iron contamination of sodium ion exchange softener resin beds. It can be used either as a preventative treatment or as a resin cleaner for use in water softeners. It is a super-threshold agent delivering proven high performance against several problem scales.

- AntiScalant for High Silica Feed Water
It is a high performance non-hazardous reverse osmosis (RO) antiscalant and dispersant, scientifically formulated for the treatment and protection of reverse osmosis membranes under high silica feed water conditions. A proprietary blend has been specifically designed for RO membrane systems with high silica feed-waters. It can be used in reverse osmosis applications where the reject brine silica levels are as high as 230 ppm at 30 C and pH 7.5. Scaling and deposits build up on the reverse osmosis membranes leading to poor permeate quality, low permeate production and increased water and energy costs.
It is a proven high performance scale inhibitor against calcium carbonate and calcium sulfate scalants and combats silica fouling by a combination of anti-precipitation, anti-agglomeration and dispersancy processes. It is compatible with a wide range of materials and unlike other antiscalants, is not deactivated in the presence of iron.

- Isothiazolinone Biocide
It is a broad spectrum, non-foaming, readily biodegradable micro-biocide for use in industrial cooling water systems. It is based on a formulation of Isothiazoline derivatives and is completely soluble in water. At relatively low concentrations it is effective against a range of microorganisms including many gram positive and gram negative bacteria, fungi and algae. It is effective over a wide range of pH and can be used in isolation or alternately with other non-oxidising or oxidising biocides.
- Isothiazolinone Biocide
- DBNPA Biocide
It is a broad spectrum non-oxidising biocide solution based on DBNPA for use in a range of applications such as cooling water, pulp and paper processing, metalworking fluids and the treatment of RO membranes. It is particularly rapid in its action and has an excellent environmental profile because it degrades quickly and naturally. It will rapidly kill a wide range of bacteria including Legionella bacteria. At 100 ppm Legionella is killed in 2 hours.
It delivers a synergistic performance with halogen. It also exhibits rapid breakdown (hydrolysis) to low toxicity end products. The rate of breakdown increases with temperature and pH.
- DBNPA Biocide
- Sulphite Based Treatment
It is a easy to handle sulphite based solution that can be used as both a powerful oxygen scavenger for low and medium pressure steam boilers and also a neutralizer for removing chlorine and other biocides to protect sensitive systems such as RO plants or prior to discharge to the environment.
It is an effective neutraliser of halogens, particularly chlorine, and a wide range of other biocides.
It can be used to neutralise excess chlorine following disinfection of water systems, including cooling water systems and the feed to RO systems.Rapid reaction with oxygen ensures efficient protection of feedlines and boilers from corrosion.
It is intended for those applications such as the food industry where heavy metal catalysts cannot be used.
It reacts with oxygen to form bi-products which have no adverse effect on boiler integrity. One of these bi-products enhances protection against caustic embrittlement.
- Sulphite Based Treatment
- Neutralizer
It is a liquid neutralizer of halogens, particularly chlorine, and a wide range of other biocides. It can be used to neutralize excess chlorine following disinfection of water systems, including cooling water systems and the feed to Reverse Osmosis / RO systems. It can also be used to prepare waste streams for disposal to treatment services, including public utility services, by conditioning residual biocide including, but not limited to, C/MIT, DBNPA and THPS.
- Neutralizer
- Low Foaming Membrane Cleaner
It is a high-performance membrane cleaner scientifically formulated for the cleaning of reverse osmosis (RO) membranes and ultrafiltration (UF) membranes. It is a liquid blend of dispersants and inorganic builders with an amphoteric surfactant and is specially formulated as an alkaline cleaner for removing organic debris and bio-fouling from RO and UF membranes.
During normal operation, reverse osmosis and other membranes can become fouled, which greatly reduces the efficiency of the system. Deposits build up on the membrane until they cause a reduction in normalised permeate flow, increases in differential pressure and losses in salt rejection. The effects of fouling can lead to poor water quality, loss in production, unscheduled downtime and premature membrane replacement.
A regular maintenance and cleaning program can provide a significant return on investment by extending system run time, preventing membrane degradation, maintaining lower feed pressures and extending the membrane’s life.
- Low Foaming Membrane Cleaner
- Chelant based Membrane Cleaner
It is a non-acidic chelant based cleaning agent for removing fouling caused by calcium, barium and strontium salts and iron oxides and hydroxides. It is particularly suitable for removing acid insoluble salts such as sulphates and fluorides. It can also be used effectively in combination with alkaline and biocidal cleaners to remove organic fouling and biofouling.
- Chelant based Membrane Cleaner
- Acidic Membrane Cleaner
It is a mildly-acidic cleaning agent for removing fouling caused by iron salts, oxides and hydroxides. It can also be used to remove light calcium carbonate scaling.
- Acidic Membrane Cleaner
- Alkaline Membrane Cleaner
It is an alkaline cleaning agent for removing fouling caused by organic, biological and colloidal foulants from RO and UF membranes.
- Alkaline Membrane Cleaner
- pH Booster
It is a high quality hydroxide based alkalinity builder and is used for controlling or increasing the pH or alkalinity of water in boilers, cooling systems and effluent streams. It can also be used to boost the pH of Reverse Osmosis (RO) make-up water when used a low doses.
Specific applications include imparting hydroxide alkalinity to boiler feed water and neutralizing acidity in cooling systems and effluents.
